Over the last few decades, there is a clear target for reducing energy needs in the building sector. The above objective can be achieved both by renovating the existing building stock and/or by constructing new buildings that will meet the characteristics of zero or nearly zero energy buildings. In order to construct or renovate a building into a zero or almost zero energy building, different passive, active and hybrid systems can be used. One such system is a solar air heater collector.
The conference "IAQ 2020: Indoor Environmental Quality Performance Approaches Transitioning from IAQ to IEQ", organized by ASHRAE and AIVC will be held on September 14-16, 2020 in Athens, Greece. The conference will also be the 9th TightVent and 7th venticool conference.
The AIVC is very pleased to welcome Greece as new participating country! Greece will be represented in the AIVC board by Dimitris A. Charalambopoulos & Triantafyllos (Alkis) Triantafyllopoulos from the ASHRAE Hellenic Chapter (http://www.ashrae.gr/).
The AIVC at present counts 16 countries composing the AIVC Board demonstrating the growing interest on air infiltration and ventilation issues in new and renovated buildings.

In the present paper the impact of natural cross-ventilation on thermal comfort levels in sustainable residential buildings is evaluated. A sustainable dwelling is designed in Crete and various scenarios of different combinations of open windows and doors in the ground floor, the first floor and between the floors are tested to determine the final scenarios with the best possible airflow movement.
