Resilient Ventilative Cooling
Overheating is an issue of concern in many countries, in general and in particular in new buildings. With continued climate change, the probability of overheating will increase. Increased ventilation rates, in combination with solar control and other passive measures, can play an important role in reducing high internal temperatures. Resilient Ventilative cooling will gain in importance for new and existing buildings as it can contribute to energy efficient cooling in moderate and hot climates.
The AIVC’s work related to resilient ventilative cooling issues is done in close collaboration with the venticool platform (https://venticool.eu/), the IEA- EBC annex 62 (https://venticool.eu/annex-62-home/) and annex 80 (https://annex80.iea-ebc.org/).
