Gives some conclusions from a detailed computer analysis of the energy consumption of 600 branch bank buildings of The Bank of Novia Scotia, spread across Canada. Divides energy management into 3 categories:
- Energy waste - reduction of energy consumption by occupants eg controlling operation of exhaust fans and providing weather seals for exterior doors.
- Energy conservation - employment of sophisticated systems to reduce energy consumption eg time controls on exhaust systems and fresh air inlets.
- Energy efficient design eg disconnecting power to all exhaust fans at night.
