The 34th AIVC Conference: "Energy conservation technologies for mitigation and adaptation in the built environment: the role of ventilation strategies and smart materials" was held on 25 & 26 September 2013 in Athens together with the 3rd TightVent conference, 1st venticool conference and 2nd Cool Roofs’ Conference. There were 167 participants.
The conference consisted of 3 or 4 parallel tracks devoted to a large extent to the following topics:
- Ventilative cooling;
- Cool roofs;
- Envelope and ductwork airtightness;
- Ventilation system performance and indoor air quality.
The conference consisted of a mixture of presentations from the call for papers and presentations upon invitation, organized in well prepared and structured sessions focused on the conference theme and topics. Some sessions consisted of presentations from the call for papers only, other sessions were topical sessions with presentations proposed by a session organizer and by the organizing committee.
The conference was an initiative from INIVE on behalf of the AIVC, TightVent Europe and venticool in collaboration with the European Cool Roof's Council (ECRC).
