Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

The AIVC website includes a protected content feature that provides access to AIRBASE. Access to the protected content is free of charge but requires you to register first.

The use of air solar collector realised on the north facade of a new hospital building in Rome is hereby described.

The present research applies the N3S 3D finite element CFD code to the air flow simulation on a well-known dwelling building located in South of Switzerland, the " Maison Ronde " of the architect Mario Botta.
Marenne C, Groleau D, Raymond R
The relationships, in courtyards, between wind flow pattern and temperature distribution have been studied. Thus, in the first part of this study a dimensionless temperature based on the exchange of heat by convection is defined.
Alvarez S, Sanchez F, Molina J L
The paper reports on progress to date on the development of a model for predicting energy use and the effect of conservation strategies in non-domestic buildings in the tropic and subtropics.
Docherty M
Energy Comfort 2000 is a THERMIB supported Target project in which seven non-domestic buildings have been designed, built and are being monitored. An eighth building was designed but unfortunately has not finally been built.
Burton S, Sorensen H, Boonstra C, et al
This forms a summary of the IEA ECBCS Annex VIII study into the behaviour of occupants with regard to ventilation.
Dubrul C.
The glossary gives the translation (English/Dutch - Dutch/English) of more than 1000 terms related to air infiltration and ventilation.
Allen C.
A loose-leaf handbook (228 pp) divided into seven chapters covering air change rate, interzonal airflow and building airtightness measurement techniques.
Charlesworth P.S.
The proceedings of the eighth AIVC Conference contain 14 papers and 11 posters as follows: “Measurement techniques for ventilation and air leakage”; “Measurements of infiltration and air movement in five large single-cell buildings”; “Developments
