Identify contaminant sources in airliner cabins by inverse modeling of CFD with information from a sensor | 2007 | English
In case contaminants are found in an aircraft cabin, it is useful to identify the contaminant source location and strength.
DAYLIGHT1-2-3 – A state-of-the-art daylighting/energy analysis software for initial design investigations | 2007 | English
This paper provides an overview of Daylight1-2-3, a new daylighting/energy analysis software for design professionals and architectural students with an interest in daylighting and sustainable design, but no required previous knowledge of either d
An energy management system (EMS) is a dedicated computer that can be programmed to control all of a building’s energy-related systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water, interior lighting, exterior lighting, on-site power generat
The subway station is a special location with very dense crowd. Because subway station situates in underground, people can not evacuate to ground easily. Once a fire occurs in subway station, it is very dangerous for people to stay in it.
Coupled Analytical Tool of Ventilation Calculation and CFD in Annexation System of Cool/Heat Tube and Natural Ventilation | 2007 | English
Natural ventilation airflow rate is generally calculated using indoor and outdoor temperature difference without consideration of heat balance based on the vertical air temperature distribution in simple analytical method.
Analysis of building energy efficiency strategies for the hot summer and cold winter zone in China | 2007 | English
In this paper, three typical cities (Shanghai, Changsha and Chongqing) in the hot summer and cold winter climate zone of China was selected to study and the energy consumption of a model building in these three locations was simulated by eQuest so
This paper presents the development of a computer model of an academic building using the EnergyPlus program and its calibration with monitored data.
This paper presents an overview of crowd simulation models, their limitations, and an alternative agentbased approch.
Numerical prediction of natural convection occurring in building components using lattice Boltzmann method | 2007 | English
A double population Lattice Boltzmann is used to solve the problem of the diffrentially heated cavity The use of a non-uniform grid makes it possible to validate the approach for laminar and transitional flows and (103≤Ra≤10
Study on the hygrothermal performance of wooden basement systems of floating houses in “passive house technology” | 2007 | English
This paper presents results of a study concerning the hygrothermal and durability performance of timber construction wall and bottom slab assemblies built in “passive house technology” for habitable basements of floating houses. Highly-insulated b
In this paper, the potential of energy saving in residential building in Changsha area was studied with dynamic simulation approaches.
The aim of this research work is to investigate the actual energy consumption in existing public buildings and to obtain the basic data for energy conservation of these buildings.
Numerical and experimental study on optimal running mode of smoke extraction system in a subway station in Beijing | 2007 | English
Velocity fields on the platform area and flow rate of the smoke extraction system were experimentally measured under the different fan-operation modes in an actual subway station in Beijing.
Application as Commissioning Tool of Various HVAC Simulation Programs and Visual Tools | 2007 | English
Various simulation programs and visual tools of HVAC system ever released, which were not originally developed to be used as commissioning tools, are considered to be potentially powerful tools for commissioning, as use of these programs facilita
Sensor fault detection and diagnosis for vav system based on principal component analysis | 2007 | English
VAV system is a very complicated one in airconditionging systems, thus automatic control become the key of such a system. As necessary components in automatic control system, sensor has failure risk.
It is obvious that a building permanently exchanges with its nearby environment (mainly light, heat, sound, visual accessibility); these interactions are numerous and complex enough to require serious means of investigation, more especially as the
Fast evaluation of sustainable heating and cooling strategies for solar homes with integrated energy and CFD modeling | 2007 | English
This paper demonstrates a simple and practical simulation-based approach for fast identification of appropriate building design strategies at the early stage of a design project.
This paper presents the features of Eco-Bat, a computer program developed to assess the environmental impacts of buildings, including construction materials and energy consumed, during its life cycle. The methodology used to evaluate environmental
Residential buildings are characterized by being envelope-load dominated buildings, hence are greatly influenced by the outside climatic conditions.
