This paper deals with the results of a research carried out at Conservation institutions and based on a bibliographic study. Recommendations have been established for the Conservation Departments of Museums and the Art Department specially.According to the authors, some of those recommendations relative to temperature and relative humidity conditions, present inconsistencies. The authors' opinion is that conditions and tolerances required for exhibition spaces are in most cases exaggerated with no scientific back-up necessary to support such requirements. There will be consequences on investments costs, and energy consumption.
