The aim of the European project HOPE (Health Optimisation Protocol for Energy-efficient buildings) is to demonstrate the energy-efficient buildings can be healthy and comfortable too for their occupants. Measurements were carried out to evaluate indoor environmental quality. And questionnaires were filled by the occupants. In U.K. offices, the perceived occupants' health and comfort was consistent with the results of the measurements (high temperature, high levels of particulate matter, ventilation) , on the contrary, for UK homes the occupants perception could not be fully explained by the measurements.
