Swedish Council for Building Research Report D10:1981

Describes a new method, termed Minisystem Analysis (MSA) developed for the calculation of the energy conservation potential of an individual building in which a number of energy conservation measures interact. In this method, account is taken of the fact that effects cannot at all times be added, and that certain measures must always be combined in order that the full effect may be obtained. Covers building measures such as additional insulation and improving the airtightness of the building envelope; and installation measures such as increasing the effectiveness of heat production and adjustment of ventilation installation. Gives the calculation model used in MSA, including the algorithm, analytical procedure and measure of profitability; and its application to a single family house, a block of flats and an office building.
