Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

ln the paper a numerical program package is described to calculate incompressible, unsteady, three-dimensional, viscous and turbulent flow fields around sharp edged obstacle.
Frank W, Mauch H.
There is a need to calculate root mean square (r.m.s.) pressures from the output of steady-state computer programs. We know much less about calculating r.m.s. pressures than about calculating r.m.s. velocities. R.m.s.
Paterson D A.
ASTM has recently standardized a methodology for measuring the leakage of residential air distribution systems to unconditioned zones.
Modera M P
Direct capture efficiency of a local exhaust system is defined by introducing an imaginary control box surrounding the contaminant source and the exhaust opening.
Madsen U, Breum N O, Nielsen P V
A sudden contamination of the outdoor air by some toxic gas can have several causes. To find out the protection afforded by sheltering indoors was the primary goal of the investigation.
Siren K
The effect of airflow through an opening (or a crack) on the natural convection in a stairwell model is presented. The flow is driven by energy input from an electric panel heater located in the lower floor of the stairwell.
Ergin-Ozkan S, Mokhtarzadeh-Dehghan M R, Reynolds A J.
This paper presents the results of full-scale experiments in a realistic building to evaluate natural convective heat and mass transfer through doorway-like apertures under small temperature differentials.
Said M N A, Barakat S A, Whidden E A.
In modem livestock buildings air distribution and air quality are important parameters to animal welfare and to the health of full-time employees in animal production.
Svidt K
Air flow conditions at the supply opening, which are used as boundary conditions in a numerical simulation, must be applied in order to proceed with the numerical solution of the air flow within a room.
Said M N A, Jouini D B, Plett E G.
The purposes of this Fac tsheet are to describe several farm worker health problems that are related to air quality in side livestock buildings and to consider poss ible methods to alleviate them.
Choiniere Y, Munroe J
