This presentation is the recording of the first 100 airtight tests in Greece, from 2010 until today. The inspections were carried out in private homes and in large-scale commercial buildings, of different construction dates, renovated or not, in various cities of the country and on islands. Most of the inspections were carried out in the area of Attica and in the city of Athens.

Diese Präsentation behandelt Aufzeichnungen der ersten 100 Luftdichtheitstests in Griechenland von 2010 bis heute. Die Tests wurden in renovierten und unrenovierten privaten Haushalten und großen Geschäftsgebäuden unterschiedlicher Baujahre in verschiedenen Städten und Inseln unseres Landes durchgeführt. Die meisten Tests fanden in der Region um Attika und in Athen statt.

Aside from amending terms and definitions, the purpose of the national Annex NA is to introduce “Procedure 3”. The annex has the purpose to ensure that the measuring method is feasible in Switzerland and that the airtightness quality in buildings is good. The building preparation, for instance, is slightly different compared to the previous method. There is a tendency to tape off fewer components to promote good workmanship.  

Der nationalen Anhang NA dient neben einer verbesserten Begriffs- und Definitionsklärung dazu, ein Verfahren 3 einzuführen. Einerseits soll das eine gute Praktikabilität des Messver-fahrens in der Schweiz sicherstellen und andererseits eine gute Qualität der Luftdichtheit von Gebäuden gewährleisten. Beispielsweise die Gebäudepräparation weicht dabei in einigen Punkten vom früheren Usus ab. Es dürfen tendenziell weniger Bauteile abgeklebt werden, um gute Bauausführungen zu fördern.

In a context of energy use reduction, low energy buildings are becoming more widespread. This kind of construction requires a good envelop airtightness to prevent uncontrolled leakages of conditioned air leading to energy losses. As a result, more and more ventilation systems are installed to ensure a sufficient air change rate for a good indoor air quality. 

Throughout the world more and more high-rises or very tall buildings are being checked for air leaks. In February 2021 air permeability measurements were carried out in a 125-meter-high building with 37 storeys. This is the first time that a building of this height was measured in Europe. This report provides information about the planning process, the measurement concept and the measurement results.

At the beginning of 2019 I received a request to measure four so-called isolation rooms which were intended for a new hospital. Such isolation rooms are standard practice to prevent the transmission of germs and viruses from patients with contagious diseases or to patients suffering from immunodeficiency.

Anfang 2019 erhielt ich eine Anfrage zur Messung von vier sogenannten Isolierzimmern, welche beim Neubau eines Krankenhauses vorgesehen waren. Solche Isolierzimmer werden regulär betrieben, um die Übertragung von Keimen und Viren von Patienten mit ansteckenden Krankheiten oder zu Patienten mit Immunschwäche zu verhindern.
